Quadria Capital Acquires Stake In Asian Institute of Gastroenterology



Investment to help build AIG into one of the largest single location gastric sciences hospital in the world

 

SINGAPORE-17th November 2015- Quadria Capital has successfully concluded an investment deal in Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG), a leading gastric sciences hospital based in Hyderabad (India). The investment be will be used to facilitate the growth of AIG’s network to over 1,000 beds and provide an integrated state of the art facility for gastric sciences and co-morbid specialties like cardiology, oncology and transplants.

 

AIG was established in 1994 as a new concept of day care unit for endoscopic surgical procedures. Since then the institute has become one of the largest referral centers in Asia for Therapeutic Endoscopy and has the credit of doing the highest number of ERCP procedures and the first robotic endoscopy in the world.

 

AIG has a globally acclaimed clinical practice and is amongst the 14 centers to be conferred with OMED (World Endoscopy Organization) recognition. The clinical excellence is supported by its center for research and education which besides performing cutting edge research offers Diplomas and PhD in gastric sciences and trains over 20 doctors annually. This has helped AIG develop a strong referral base for patients not only from other provinces in India but also from surrounding countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Nepal etc.

 

AIG will soon commission its state-of-the art 700 bed facility in Gachibowli (Hyderabad) offering the most advanced services in gastric sciences, cardiac sciences and oncology. The hospital, built on the lines of JCI, will be equipped with the most advanced medical infrastructure including amongst other things, cutting edge equipment for gastro, radiation oncology and a robotic OT facility.
